I want to thank all of you who helped to make 2007 our most successful season ever. With the premiere of
Flood
to great acclaim this June at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, we began an exhilarating season of national and international performances.
The invitations for LFD to perform---at the 75th anniversary season of Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival
and a performance/teaching residency with the California State Summer School of the Arts-Cal Arts campus in July,
highly successful international tours to Belarus and Poland in September, and as the featured performance at the official
opening of Mint Plaza, San Francisco's newest outdoor gathering place--have been accompanied by an increase in
public support, including the U.S. Embassies in Poland and Belarus and the Trust for Mutual Understanding. However, the company's costs outstrip the funds we raise
from granting organizations and the government.
Your support is at the core of our operations and your contributions make what we do possible. The private donations we
received last year made the critical differences needed to bring our work to audiences in the US and abroad, and launched our upcoming
2008 European tour of Poland, Latvia and Hungary. Supporters like you fund the groundbreaking work we premiere at our Yerba Buena
Center for the Arts home season and local outreach, such as free outdoor performances at Mint Plaza and other locations, that makes the
vitality and beauty of dance performance an accessible element in city dwellers’ everyday lives.
The support of individuals interested in the creation and presentation of
