I design a performance installation as a continuous and non-repetitive event; with the dancers in different areas of the space and the audience moving at will between the galleries or spaces. The artistic collaborators in these events include sound designers, set designers and actors. Dancers move between the galleries/spaces during the performance, so the “performance” in each gallery/space has a changing cast. There are no repetitions; my idea is that no one in the audience sees everything. Whatever route an audience member takes in travelling through the “set” determines the dance that he/she sees. The individualized order in which the audience sees the dance heightens the ephemeral and arbitrary aspects of thought and perception.
